Today (26/11/09) recruitment was at the top of the agenda of the Branch Committee. The Committee were told about more succesfull recruitment at the weekend with volunteers getting out and about to talk to potential members.
Plans for a week long recruitment drive next week where agreed with UNISON staff and volunteers visiting the QE, Selly Oak Hospital and off site areas such as Meltchitt Rd and Elliot Rd.
Recruiting more members is essential so we can have a strong voice in the trust for everyone. But we also need more reps and the Branch Committee heard of new volunteers who have been identified.
The Branch welcomed our new website where you can join online!
The Branch also:
- Agreed a motion to UNISON's Health Conference on the political and economic changes affecting the NHS
- Elected delegates to Regional Health Committee and Health Conference
- Discussed arrangements for our Branch Annual General Meeting where we hope to hear from key figures in UNISON and the Trust.
- Updated each other in relation to negotiations and ongoing work, particularly in regards new hospital
There will be no meeting in December due to Christmas, the next meeting will be 28th January 2010.
