Today (27/10/11) the Branch Committee agreed to establish an Industrial Action Fund and made £75000 available to issue hardship payments to members who suffer hardship as a result of strike action on the 30th November.
Members who feel they are in hardship as a direct result of loosing pay should apply to the Branch for a Hardship Payment. Payments will be made up to a maximum of £50 per member and will not exceed the total pay deducted.
This will be after the action takes place and members will also need to provide a copy of their payslip to demonstrate the loss of pay resulting from the Strike.
Members are reminded that if they suffer hardship for any reason can always seek help from UNISON Welfare. Our Welfare Officer is Lin Thomas.
The Branch Committee also looked in more detail at plans for the 30th November including the possibility of a local rally along with picket lines, etc.
Branch Committee meets on the last Thursday of every month at 10am in the Joint Union Office on the 5th Floor of the Old QE Hospital.
