Feeling Squeezed – Pensions, Pay, Terms and Conditions

 Local All Members Meeting 2012

You are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of University Hospitals Birmingham UNISON Branch on 16^th March 2012 at 13.00-1430 in Lecture Theatre 3 in the Education Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (up the stairs from the atrium). With the numbers at last years AGM we’ve moved to a larger venue. Lunch is provided.

We will hear from Christina McAnea, UNISON’s National Secretary for Health, who is the lead negotiator for all the unions on Pensions and as Staff Side Chair of NHS Staff Council she leads the unions in negotiations on Agenda for Change Pay, Terms & Conditions.

This will be a good opportunity to discuss how we work together to defend our Pay, Pensions and T&Cs both locally and nationally. We want to hear what you think should be our priorities as negotiators; nationally with Government/NHS Employers and locally (with UHB Trust, BBraun or the Universities etc).

The AGM is also an important opportunity for you to hear what the Branch has been doing on your behalf, hold your Branch Officers to account, and elect Officers for the coming year.

The Agenda, details of nominations for elections, and any business submitted will be available online at www.uhbunison.org.uk/agm at least a week before the AGM, if you would like to be sent hard copies please contact James Anthony, Branch Chair.

We have sent you details of how to get involved in a number of ways, from helping local members by being a local contact or Steward, helping run the local Branch by being a Branch Officer or speaking up for our local members at the National Delegate Conference. You can also submit a motion to the AGM setting out what UNISON should do or submit a rule change if you want to change the way we work. The deadline for all of these is 2^nd March 2012.
